Papers Compatibility with OS 10.7 Lion

Papers2 Compatibility with OS 10.7 Lion

Papers 2.1.12 is compatible with OS 10.7 Lion, and is recommended for all users. You should be able to update your version using the automatic updates built in Papers 2 (menu item 'Check for Updates...' in the Papers menu). Or you can download it manually if needed: http://mekentosj.com/papers/download (make sure you copy the program from the disk image to the Applications folder. Then open the Applications folder, and double-click on Papers).

Note that with any OS update, the first few weeks of use can still reveal more issues, which might thus still be present in Papers 2.1.12. Please report those issues as usual using our Discussions area, or by sending an email to feedback at mekentosj dot com.

There are still more improvements that will be made to Papers 2 in the coming months to support more of the Lion features.

Thanks for your patience!

Special case: Papers2 on a clean install of OS 10.7 Lion

The following is only relevant if you decide to completely erase your hard drive before installing OS 10.7 Lion. If you simply update your system to Lion, you do not need to do anything special, Papers2 should just work.

We realize some of you may decide to completely erase their hard drive before installing OS 10.7 Lion, or may move their Papers library to a brand new computer that comes with Lion. In this particular case, the procedure is very similar to moving your Papers library to a different mac.

  1. Before the clean install, back up your Papers library folder to an external drive.
  2. Install OS X Lion
  3. Download Papers2 again: http://mekentosj.com/papers/download
  4. Move your Papers2 library back to your computer
  5. Start Papers2, you might be asked to confirm the activation on your new machine, but Papers should remember your serial number.
