Filtering - bug or feature?

Hi guys,

I just noticed a (for me counterintuitive) behavior.

I have a smart collection containing all the books I have. When no filter is applied to the library all my books are shown in that collection. But if I filter the library to only show articles my books collection is empty.
In my naive way I assumed that the rule of the smart collections are applied to the “general” library and do not depend on the filter settings.
My example case isn’t that tragic but I could imagine that this can get a more annoying for other filter/smart collection combinations.

But, on the other, maybe you have thought long and hard about that and probably have your reasons.

Cheers,
Pascal

    Hey Pascal -

Thanks so much for taking the time to reach out to us with feedback regarding how we can improve Papers! This actually is written into Papers and is not a bug. However, now that you bring this up, it really doesn't make too much sense to me either.

At this time, our developers are working on our next big update to Papers which we hope will make our app even better for our users. While I do not have have a timeline just yet for when that update can be expected, I will be in touch as we get a solid timeline!

Thanks again so much for reaching out and please let me know if we can do anything else for you!

    Best,

    Cary
